What do we mean by that? Well, our most recent discovery, Maria Headley, submitted a short story to WordSmitten, and was selected from hundreds of stories to receive our fiction award of $1,010.00. She went on to finish her novel, The Year of Yes, and appeared on broadcaster Katie Couric's morning show, before Katie became an evening news anchor.
