Field and Swamp Thornbug Shop

The Thornbug (Umbonia crassicornis) is a treehopper common in Costa Rica and named for the nature of its camouflage. It feeds by sucking sap from plants through its beak. Males call by vibrating against a plant stem. Females protect their young, sometimes by fighting predators.
