The Irish Brigade Farewell Banner - Drapeau d' Adieu. It was presented by the Comte de Provence, brother of Louis XVI, in 1792 to the officers of the Irish Brigade. The flag was embroidered with an Irish Harp, Shamrock and Fleur de Lys, and the motto "1692-1792, Semper et Ubique Fidelis", in recognition of one hundred years' service to the kings of France. Men of the Brigade had served as marines with John Paul Jones during his famous "don't give up the ship" battle. Note that the motto, "Always and everywhere faithful" would become the motto of the United States Marine Corps.
