One design of note titled "Doll Stocking" has the name Irene Marcellus along the bottom of the stocking. Irene Marcellus has often been mistaken as the artist, when in fact, she was the child model for many illustrators and photographers of her day, around the turn of the last century. Miss Marcellus was a very young child model at that, beginning her modeling career at the age of two, with help from her mother, who was also an accomplished model.
