Welcome to Life's a Polyp online shop! All profits are donated to National Organization for Rare Disorders Familial Adenomatous Polyposis.

In the beginning, there wasn't a research fund for Familial Adenomatous Polyposis with the National Organization for Rare Disorders. It all started in honor and celebration of Rare Disease Day 2015. I designed and launched a t-shirt fundraiser for research and awareness. Through shirt sales and private donations, we raised $640 to start the research fund! With the work not over and the support continuing, I decided to launch an ongoing fundraiser with multiple design options available.

FAP is a rare, genetic disease that causes 100s to 1000s of polyps to develop in the colon that is guaranteed to result in colorectal cancer if the colon is not removed in a timely manner. These polyps may also develop elsewhere in the gastrointestinal tract. Individuals are at risk for associated cancers and other side effects. Colon removal often creates its own complications and side effects as well. FAP is so rare that many doctors and specialists are unfamiliar with the disease. This fundraiser will not only increase research for FAP but also increase awareness of FAP within the community. Please help support those with FAP.

I also wrote a FAP Children's Book - Life's a Polyp with Zeke and Katie . The characters of Zeke and Katie can also be found among several of the Life's a Polyp Shop designs.
