Artifacts of the Lair

Teeshirts, mousepads, ornaments and more with folk music, progressive political, environmental and social satire themes, created by Seattle folksinger Karen the LairMistress!

Welcome to ARTIFACTS OF THE LAIR!

Hello and Welcome to the Lair's biggest emporium, LairCronies, LairLurkers, comrades, friends and fellow folkies! It's time to update this little intro page, we think; the staleness of the old text can be smelled clear across this galaxy of Cyberspace!

The images featured in this LairShop are mostly digital art pieces, along with an original photograph or two. We are especially proud of our current Official LairLogo: a small, round ornament made of Sculpey polymer clay, decorated in the style of Neolithic European ceramic art (c. 6000 B.C.E.-c. 2500 B.C.E.); then slapped on a scanner and endowed with a striking background courtesy of Photoshop! The Lair's title and url are also featured. Our more recent images and photos have featured something that I like to call "painting with photographs"; that is, the whole reason for the existence of "background" images on stock photo sites. Photoshop, in one edition or another, continues to be helpful, with its cookie cutter designs, functions for "painting" from backgrounds, and elaboration of assorted fonts.

#####

Okay, it's not 2017 anymore; but I still think I'd like to emigrate to Ireland, Norway, or someplace a little more sane than Trumpistan, 2019! I need to update this intro material more often; but I feel oh, so uninspired right now. Maybe I need to spend some time in the Black Hills, or some other place that might, possibly, make me "feel like a natural woman."

Have you seen our new promo video for this Lair on Youtube? This clip showcases our Aerial photos featured on our Best of the Cascades SubLair, with a little help from Youtube's audio library! Check out our little marketing video clip at this link...

I'm really quite pleased with the newest teeshirt designs (see the first few SubLairs down below). I just need to figure out where best to promote them! I'm thinking that I may need to resort to old-school flyers-with-tearoff-link pieces. You know the ones; you've seen them on every college billboard for at least the past fifty years.

Before we go on, you are cordially invited to check out my special Cafepress LairShop blog, The LairShops Beckon! Unfortunately, the Squidoo lenses we set up to promote all the LairShops were co-opted by this rather pointless (in my opinion) outfit known as "HubPages", and they decided to discontinue any lenses/hubs that promoted Cafepress stores. Plus, be sure to visit my other stores as well (see Sidebar LairLinks!):

"Together Across the World" is the official motto or slogan of Kari's Lair. It seems a little more inclusive and all-embracing than "God Bless [insert own country here]."
