Purring
Purring, or shin-kicking, was a popular English folk sport practiced from at least the 16th century. The sport was brought to America by Cornish miners residing in Pennsylvania. Lab coats are the mandatory uniform, the opponent's collar must be continually held, and only kicks to the shin are allowed. A point is scored when one opponent is kicked to the ground, onto his back. The opponent collecting the best of three points hobbles away as the winner. Although rare, Purring is still seen in exhibits and in children's mutated game variants.
