His newest work shows the same bear, Ibuki, a year after the start of the restoration efforts, holding a sprout in his paws. Ibuki's name--written in hiragana on his helmet--means "breath and spirit of Spring" in Japanese. We can't think of a more fitting term as we support the Japanese people in their efforts going forward.
