The Famous Marching Presidents are currently 89 men and women who, once a year, dress up as all the Presidents and First Ladies in American History. The group marches in the annual Constitution Day Parade celebration held in September in Nevada City, CA. 2012 marks the 25th year of the march.

Note: Local Nevada City artist, R. L. "Bob" Crabb, has for 19 years created the images for the Marching Presidents' annual themes. Many of his images are provided in the sections below. The image from 1991 was created by David W. "Sparky" Parker, the Founder and Artistic Director of the Marching Presidents. 2014 marked the 50th Anniversary of the passing of the Civil Rights Act. Lyndon Johnson was president during this historic event and the Viet Nam war as highlighted.

2013 is the year of Abe Lincoln. Not only is there an award winning film, it is an anniversary for the Emancipation Proclamation. On July 4th, the Parade of Lincolns won top honors.

2005 Woodrow Wilson
Woodrow Wilson was the presidential image the Marching Presidents introduced in 2005. Designed by R.L. "Bob" Crabb, the image depicts vignettes of several events during Wilson's career as president.

2004 Warren G. Harding

2004 Warren G. Harding
In 2004 the Marching Presidents saluted Warren G. Harding who was president from 1920-1923.

2003 Jimmy Carter

2003 Jimmy Carter
In 2003, R.L. "Bob" Crabb created this commemorative image of Jimmy Carter. In it, Carter is outfitted to work on Habitat for Humanity. Assisting him are Van Buren, Ford and Lincoln.

2002 Roosevelts

2002 Roosevelts
R.L. Crabb designed the Roosevelts' image in 2002. It depicts the two presidential Roosevelts: Teddy and Franklin. The two were distantly related but pronounced their names differenly.

1997 was the 10th year that the Marching Presidents appeared in the annual Constitution Day Parade in Nevada City, California. R.L. "Bob" Crabb designed this image for that significant event.

The year was 1993 when R.L. "Bob" Crabb created his first art for the Marching Presidents. By this time, the Presidents were in existance for 5 years. In 93', legal tender was the theme.
