Robert Allen Rieck Jr. is a C-5 quadriplegic who was injured in a fall on September 30th, 1996. He has an Associates Degree in Business Administration with Marketing as a focus. He was a volunteer for the Lincoln Literacy Counsel from November 2001 to October 2007. In September 2006, Robert became a pioneering wheelchair rugby (Quad Rugby) player to help form and organize the Midwest Rugby Rebels -- first and only Quad Rugby team in Nebraska. To date, he still actively plays and is always looking for potential new players. Robert is a SCI (spinal cord injury) mentor, volunteering as needed, at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital where he visits, listens, and encourages newly injured patients to make life adjustments, while still pursuing personal goals in society and life. Robert loves to spend quality time with his girlfriend Jessie, who he has been dating since June 17th, 2005.
"There isn't anything I can think of that I would not enjoy doing, as long as my girl Jessie is with me. Regardless of what we do or where we go, our togetherness makes us inseparable and complete."
Robert is constantly setting and finishing goals/projects. In May 2005 he opened an online business called "QuadAntics," introducing a distinct creative level of ' disability humor ' in the form of graphics (mainly on T-shirts) never fully seen before. It wasn't until 2007 Robert took on the complete responsibility of starting and finishing graphic designs using art skills he possessed before his accident, learning to draw with his mouth, and self-teaching to use a Wacom tablet and Photoshop. Now Robert draws and designs to appeal to a mixture of people in his efforts to support QuadAntics Mission Statement.
