I started Jim's Fund for purely selfish reasons. I have a friend, Jim Hyde, who has had AIDS for 24 years. I don't want him to die. The best way I can see of keeping Jim alive (and not having to take those horrible drugs that cause him so much pain) is to find a cure for AIDS. Since I'm not a scientist or billionaire, I raise money for AmFAR ( http://www.amfar.org ) by opening shops here on Cafe Press and having the checks mailed directly to AmFAR.
