Berlin: Island of Freedom - Held Until Relieved

From 1946 to 1994, Berlin was a "besieged" outpost of freedom located 100 miles inside Communist East Germany. The design on this magnet commemorates the vigilance and resolve of the members of the forces who kept Berlin free. They held their outpost until relieved by the collapse of Communist East Germany and the fall of the wall.
The novel "Voices Under Berlin" is one of the tales from that time. To learn more about the novel, click on the banner.
