Frida Kahlo is one of Mexico’s most famous artists. She is considered a surrealist painter. Mario Castillo, a Chicago muralist, created this artwork to pay tribute to Frida and her husband Diego Rivera, one of Los Tres Grandes. Frida as a female activist is considered a very strong women who always stood for Women’s liberties. She has become world renown, just as the three great ones Jose Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, & of course Rivera.
