brehme > Easy Street, West Seattle
In spring of 2006, I went out to the Junction, the intersection of California and Alaska in West Seattle. It was twilight and the neon was beginning to light up the air. I took note of all the people out enjoying the dryer late afternoon Seattle air and compiled them into this painting: A man taking his daughter on a wagon with her dog in tow after getting ice cream at Huskies; street musicians; pan handlers; and Easy Street Records. I titled the painting, "Easy Street," for they all seemed to be living on Easy Street this evening.
