Fringe characters want to hijack the science classroom and have their own peculiar ideas taught to kids as if they were science. They can't be bothered to do field work, to run experiments to test their notions, or publish their work in peer-reviewed journals and respond to criticism. But you can count on them to lobby your state board of education or legislature to achieve by political fiat what they know they can't do using the scientific process. It's time to let them know that they aren't welcome in the science classroom.
