If we don't, then why bother? And we don't
just love the way they look when we've sanded them, finished
them, and polished them out. We love the way poplar is green
when you've just cut it, and mellows to brown over time; we
love all sorts of maple, even when it's a spalted brat. We love
the fact that purpleheart is even possible. We love them
when they're still trees. Wood's pretty dang lovable.
