Michigan Westie Rescue is there for the two to three dozen Westies each year who have nowhere else to turn. They come from backyard breeders and puppy mills. They don't have a breeder who cares about them and will take them back if they are in need. (Reputable breeders take care of their own). They come to us for many reasons, both good and bad. We try to find "Forever homes" for them; if needed we provide medical care and foster care. Funds raised take care of these dogs and are also used for educational purposes.
