It seems that every group of disabled persons has to kick up a fuss to be recognized as human. "Disablism" is rampant, and strangely enough, some of the worst offenders are those who want to "help" us. Currently, the slick, well-fundied "Autism Speaks" people are taking your money to find ways to make sure that autism is scrubbed from the gene pool. Are there any autistics on the board of Autism Speaks? Nope. Are we invited to speak at their conventions? Nope. Do autistics who can validly represent their own interests even exist? Not according to them... So - if 1 in every 150 persons is a drooling, flapping, uncommunicative pain in the ass, as is alleged - well, you should know at least two. Do you?
