She is, as ABBA might call her, a dancing queen. She is at her best when she is on a night out, and her sexy stiletto heels and striking long legs make it clear that she is no pushover. This graphic employs a very useful technique of understatement and subtlety in order to highlight the woman as a true queen of the night. The black on white and the surrounding scribbles and unidentified objects in the image make her come alive even more.
This design is simple, but it is eccentric, and it is this strangeness and almost surreal feeling that it gives off that makes it such a unique and interesting graphic. It clearly connects together a theme of the darkness of night with the idea of fun, of dancing, and of generally enjoying a night on the town.
This graphic shows the interesting discrepancy between the way people used to view night and the way it is viewed now. At first, night was to be feared, predators came out at night, and it was a dangerous time. Now, night is the place for fun, for entertainment, for mysticism, and for myth. Its is when the sun goes down that cities really come alive.
