Viking Answer Lady Gifts : The Gods of the Vikings : Óðinn the All-Father : Óðinn Heals Baldr's Horse
The Second Merseberg Charm, an incantation recorded in 10th century Old High German, is an example of the type of magical healing practice in use across the Indo-European world, and hints at the type of charm the Vikings likely used. Variants of this same charm have been found as early as Vedic literature (ca. 500 BC), while others have been preserved in England, Scotland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Estonia, Finland and Hungary.
