A 20th-century depiction of the god of storm, Thórr.
Gylfaginning, a part of Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda, says:
Þórr á hafra tvá, er svá heita: Tanngnjóstr ok Tanngrisnir, ok reið þá, er hann ekr, en hafrarnir draga reiðna. Því er hann kallaðr Öku-Þórr.
Thórr has two goats known as Tooth-Gnasher and Gap-Tooth, and the vehicle he drives in. The goats pull the conveyance, and for this reason he is called Thórr The Driver.
Oslo Town Hall (Oslo Rådhus) was built in 1950 and is richly decorated inside and out by famous Norwegian artists from the first part of the twentieth century. Themes of Norwegian history and culture predominate, depicting daily life and Viking mythology. The walls surrounding the courtyard are decorated with a variety of carvings by Dagfinn Werenskiold that depict Norse mythology.
