In Star Trek, The Constitution Refit Class USS Enterprise NCC 1701-A was built at San Francisco Fleet Yards following the destruction of the original Enterprise. This design commemorates that fact and is the kind of thing that perhaps the Starfleet personnel involved in the design and construction of the famous starship may have been awarded by the United Federation of Planets when the Enterprise was launched in 2286. This version of the design has been given a worn, washed effect for that aged look.
