Frankie Say Relax was a classic 1980's t-shirt design worn by men and women alike. The slogan is sometimes misquoted as Frankie "Says" Relax by people who assume that "Frankie" was a person. In fact, the design was adopted by 80s group Frankie Goes to Hollywood following the release of their controversial (at the time) single "Relax", which was banned by the BBC for its suggestive lyrics. The BBC now play the record, as today, the lyrics are overshadowed by the permissive nature of today's society. Imagine what the 1980s BBC would have made of some of this year's pop lyrics...?
Frankie Says Relax The correct wording isn't "Frankie SAYS Relax", but "Frankie SAY Relax", but we've provided this as an alternative.
