Irish Postcard Robert Emmet, Theobald Wolfe Tone and Edward Fitzgerald, three of the most famous martyrs in Irish history were commemorated in this beautiful postcard 100 years ago. Each of them gave up his life.	Manchester Martyrs The “Manchester Martyrs” were William Allen, Michael Larkin, and Michael O'Brien. They were executed in Manchester, England in 1867 for the death of a policeman during a rescue of 2 fellow Fenians.	35th Indiana "1st Irish" The Thirty-fifth Regiment Indiana Infantry was the only Irish regiment from the state of Indiana. It was mustered in at Indianapolis on December 11, 1861
Confederate Irish The Irish fought on both sides of the American Civil War. This section honors those who fought for the "Stars and Bars," the Confederate Irish.	Heroes of the Easter Rising AND I say to my people's masters: Beware, Beware of the thing that is coming, beware of the risen people, Who shall take what ye would not give.	The Irish Brigade of France REMEMBER FONTENOY!! That was the cry Gen. Meagher used in the American Civil War, inspiring America's Irish Brigade by invoking the greatest victory of the Irish Brigade of France.
