William-Adolphe Bouguereau was a French academic painter from the late 1800s.
Bouguereau was a staunch traditionalist whose realistic genre paintings and mythological themes were modern interpretations of classical subjects. In his own time, Bouguereau was considered to be one of the greatest painters in the world by the Academic art community.
Some of his gorgeous works included crochet, knitting and other craft themes.
