Benjamin Lincoln

Benjamin Lincoln was a major general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. General Lord Cornwallis was so humiliated by his defeat at the hands of the "Colonials" that he refused to personally surrender his sword to General George Washington, sending his second-in-command, General Charles O'Hara, in his stead.
