Traditionally, the world over, an SAS trooper, whether serving with Australia, the UK, NZ or former Rhodesian SAS are referred to as 'Pilgrims'. All the items on this page belong to our 'Pilgrims' range of products. If you require further products with this image or a different combination of images please email us with your request.
Unfortunately until we receive approval from the British government, if ever, we can no longer use the badge of the SAS or indeed even use the words 'Who Dares Wins' on our designs because it would seem that the British Government has Registered Trademarks on these symbols and words. As part of its policy it has ordered withdrawal of these designs, notwithstanding that our designs were both respectful and honoured the SAS soldier. Cafepress have taken the view that the British order also means that the Australian, Rhodesian and New Zealand SAS symbols, even though they use the same badge, but for each countries SAS regiment cannot be used either.
So what we have done to continue to honour the SAS is to produce images that don't use the SAS badge or words 'Who Dares Wins' in them.
The 'Pilgrims' range was inspired by the poem ‘The Golden Journey to Samarkand' penned by James Elroy Flecker (1884 – 1915).
We are the Pilgrims, Master
We shall go always a little further,
It may be beyond the last blue mountain barred with snow,
Across that angry or glimmering sea …
The inspiration for the image was taken from a sketch by a SAS soldier serving in NI depicting the British SAS in Northern Ireland. The SAS in Australia are traditionally referred to as the SASR, with R representing Regiment.
