Shopkeeper Bio

SPAZA: South African township slang. Meaning "hidden", "small", "secret", "not real". During Apartheid (and now) many South Africans living in townships and squatter camps had "spaza shops", selling anything from sweets, beer, and clothes. They were (and still are) the place to go to buy, for ex, 1 candle, 1 cigarette, half a loaf of bread, "one" of just about anything. Sharp sharp!!
