About the Calligraphy and Images
"Aikido" and "Shinjinkan Dojo": brushed by the late Aikido and Zen master Tenzan Toyoda Sensei (1947-2001).
"Shinjinkai": brushed by the Zen master Dogen Hosokawa Roshi.
Shinjinkai logo: this contains two bonji, or Sanskrit characters, often found engraved on Japanese swords; the left symbol represents Fudo Myo-o, a fierce guardian figure representing intense energy and wisdom. On the right is the symbol of Marishiten, a buddhist war goddess widely revered by the samurai.
Fudo Image: Surrounded by flames and wielding the sword of wisdom, Fudo symbolizes the intensity and energy required in martial training.
