The SCA Reenactment Society

The Society for Creative Anachronism Reenactment Society (SCARS) is a group devoted to re-creating the SCA as it once was, with cutoff dates being set somewhat arbitrarily at the period of 1966-1985 CE. Members are expected to make some effort at recreating period garb, which in this case would mean any ill-fitting monstrosity that’s been mouldering in your closet for the last thirty years - particularly if it’s a stunningly poor example of whatever period it was originally designed to portray. Members may develop the persona of an SCA member who may have, but did not exist during the period under study. For those who have had a continuous persona in the SCA since before 1985, that persona could not be used for our purposes. Anyone who is technically post period for SCARS could use their persona, since it isn’t period - get it?

Just in case someone out there is tempted to take this seriously, it is clearly an act of satire… isn’t it?
