You can easily cut down your gasoline consumption simply by driving slower on the highway. Here's how it works: the number one enemy of your car's fuel efficiency is wind resistance. And the faster you go the more wind resistance you have - especially if your car is shaped like a box. As a matter of fact, wind resistance increases immensely when you get up over 70 mph.
So here's what I do: every day on my commute to work. I drive 55-60mph. And what happens? I get 10-20% better gas mileage than when I drive 70mpg. And it adds less than a minute to my commute.
So less fuel used means less need for foreign oil which means less impetus for wars in the Middle East.
Slow down. Save gas. For peace.
