The About Us FAQ:

Q: Where do you get your ideas?
A: Mostly from a lifetime of experience! And of course, there's that whole avoiding growing up thing ... . With animals and people, I usually have a real person/pet in mind, often a photograph that gives me the ideas. With my nature photography, I work to keep it as raw and natural as possible. You can feel the emotion in my work...

Q: Do you do custom cartoons? Caricatures? Events? Photography? Parties?
A: Yes! I don't do weddings anymore and party events are very limited. I can do a cartoon caricature from a photograph... preferably several photographs, as long as time is not an issue. I can even put your toon on a t-shirt for you. Use the contact form to inquire.

Q: Aren't some of your designs offensive?
A: Well it depends on what you mean. I think it is offensive that people treat animals so badly. And as for the cartoons: It's hard to be funny and still manage to never offend anyone. In fact, it's probably impossible. We know that some people are easily upset by the mere poking of fun. If you feel bad about our work, we're sorry. We also hope that you'll find a more philosophical way to look at the world so you won't get your feelings hurt so easily. After all, no offense was intended.

Q: Would you be interested in my design ideas? Photo projects?
A: Yes, I'm always looking for new ideas and there is a standing offer: If you come up with a great idea and I decide to use it, You get a free basic t-shirt of your choice. But don't be disappointed if I don't use your suggestion or if someone else makes it first; I always have a lot of work in front of me and sometimes things just get lost in the shuffle. Or maybe your idea doesn't quite fit the things I'm working on at the moment. That said, if you've got something you think is really good,, try me!

Q: Can I use one of your designs on my web site?
A: Yes! With one provision...
I need all the help I can get. If you use any of my work, please create a plainly-visible link back to http://roadsideartist.com and/or this store ( http://www.cafepress.com/roadsideart ) with a plainly-visible link. This is a requirement. And be sure to let me know where I can find your link!

Q: Can I use your designs for a commercial purpose, such as on a business card or clip art?
A: No, I have to draw the line somewhere.  Hehe... an artist, drawing a line... funny! The work you find here are a product of my own festering imagination and years of study and hard labor. They, along with the word art items, are considered intellectual property and are subject to US and international copyright law.

Q: Is your work available anywhere else?
A: I have several art blogs/related web sites. There is more in the About page. Check the About page for more info...

Q: Is this site used to fund any good and/or weird causes?
A: Yes... at least to the good part: This site is used to support my efforts to rescue, capture and spay/neuter feral cats and kittens. That's it. I consider this to be a noble and worthy cause. By purchasing our stuff, you are helping this cause.
