Patterns have always fascinated me. Recursion and repetition occur naturally in ferns, trees, frost, and many other places. Artists have captured these patterns with photography, hand-drawn designs, and computer generated illustrations. Here is a sample of my experimenting in this medium. Find in this store fractals, spirograph patterns, and nature photography. I will also throw in some of my photos that are not patterns.
Fractals This section is dedicated to the fractals that I have been exploring. Here you will find the results of layers, transparancies, and a multitude of colors. Spirals abound! |
Spirograph Around and around, the disk circles leaving a colorful pattern behind. From childhood on, I have enjoyed the loops and swirls a few pens and plastic, Spirograph cogs create. |
Kaleidoscopes I have been playing around with a kaleidoscope effect that takes me back to those times with the real deal in my hands. I was always amazed by the constantly changing and never repeating patterns. |

Snowflakes Did you love cutting out those paper snowflakes in elementary school? I did, and it is probably the repetitive patterns, the texture of paper, and the concentration that made it so fun. |
Photographs Many of my photographs over time have focused on plants and building details where the recursive and repetitive patterns occur naturally or by human design. Here are a few of these photos from my wan |
