I have a thing about stained glass and I think that it is sad that so much of it is shut away behind locked doors. It is tragic that so much vintage stained glass is at risk. One of life's ironies is that it is all too often the case that the parishes with the best stained glass are the ones with the least means to maintain and protect it. In the late 19th and early 20th century when Tiffany and La Farge were at their peak it was the great industrial cities where the wealth was to be found to fund these magnificent windows. Now those industrial cities harbor some of the poorest neighborhoods and parishes in America.
