The Rabbit Haven is a 501 c3 non-profit educational organization. Founded in 1991, the Rabbit Haven is a member of the House Rabbit Society, the Bay Area Shelter network, and the Virtual Pet Adoptions service. We associate with other rabbit education and support groups, such as the Rabbit Connection, The House Rabbit Society, and EtherBun. All Haven work is volunteer based. Funds are provided by individual donations. Veterinary care is provided by the following:
Creekside Veterinary Hospital in Soquel by Drs. Hawklyn, Calvert, and Sharp. the Avian and Exotic Clinic of Monterey and the VCA Veterinary Hospital in Oakland, CA. We care for up to 30 rabbits at a time at various foster sites.
Currently we are running way OVER capacity!
Rabbit Haven rescues injured and abandoned rabbits and accepts surrendered rabbits from the general public or the SPCA in Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Benito and Monterey Counties. Rabbit Haven works in the community, at schools, with our local SPCA shelter and other education groups to provide public education on rabbit care, feeding, grooming, medical needs, social requirements and behavioral information. Visit our site: www.therabbithaven.org to see rabbits available for adoption and learn more about the many services the Rabbit Haven provides.
