Who thought noise could sound so good?
Originally put out with no publicity or advertising, Beauty in Apathy's release went largely unnoticed. The debut album from composer Kevin Rancik's side project Protest of Reality got no promotion and little fanfare. However, after the singles were released as free online downloads in early 2004, interest in the release began to climb. With demand rising, Rancik chose to re-release the album. Its dark atmosphere and distorted sounds mark a sharp contrast with Rancik's classical piano works. The instrumental industrial sound Rancik was aiming for on this album is now being embraced by a currently small, but quickly growing number of devoted fans.
