The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio Shop

The Evelyn Ryan Archive contains artifacts drawn from Evelyn's days as a contester in the 50s and 60s, along with supplements from her children showing the life and times of this most unusual mother--and hero--of 10. Archive graphics appear on all merchandise in the Prize Winner shop. Shop proceeds go toward archive preservation and publication. Evelyn's story is told in Terry Ryan's 2001 memoir, "The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio: How My Mother Raised 10 Kids on 25 Words or Less," and in the 2005 DreamWorks Pictures movie starring Julianne Moore.
