Welcome to Pressed Clay, featuring the artwork of Corrigan Clay. Corrigan graduated from Seattle Pacific University in the year 2000, with a B.A. in Visual Arts. He lives with his family in Vancouver, Brittish Columbia where he is completing a masters degree in arts and theology. Corrigan strives to bring a narrative feel to landscape and still life imagery. His art comes from a belief in the unity and reality of the created world and its history and from a conviction that this reality flows from the reality of the spiritual dimension of life as well. For this reason Corrigan's work does not merely represent the seen world but suggests possibility, and hints at the spiritual and emotional content behind the seen world. "If you look at one of my landscapes and can't decide whether it is intended to be realistic or surreal, I have reached my aesthetic goal, and if you think to yourself, 'this landscape may have a meaning to it' you will most often be right... but don't all landscapes have a meaning beyond their beauty? The rocks and the hills weep and sing, the greater question, and the question that I hope my art will make viewers ask, is "what are they singing?"
Corrigan is not only a visual artist, but a videographer and a writer.
