Preemies are so tiny that it is very difficult to find items to actually fit them.  The Preemie Project is happy to be able to help fill this need.  We donate hand-crafted hats, booties, blankets and bereavement items to hospital NICUs in Iowa and Michigan.  The items we donate provide a warm comfort to families who often spend many hours in the hospital with their babies.  The babies are then able to take their gifts home as a reminder of their early start in life at a wonderful facility.

Families that experience a loss are provided with suitable burial garments for their tiny angels.  While our volunteers find it heatbreaking to make these special rememberance items, we believe it is important that these families are not forgotten.

The Preemie Project also provides support to families in financial crisis.  Many babies spend many weeks, or even months, in the NICU running up costly hospital bills.  Once the babies are healthy enough to go home, these bills place a heavy financial burden on their families.
