Latest News May 2006: The Philosophy Shop is one of the most popular shops at Cafepress|
Hello Everyone. We recently discovered that our Philosophy Gift Shop is one of the Top Ten shops at Cafepress (out of three million shops) which was a nice surprise! We really like philosophers and other creative thinkers of Human history, so it's great that you also find them interesting and useful (intelligence has her charm and beauty, and you will certainly stand out from the crowd & get a few comments!).
Cafepress also have an attractive Affiliate Program where you earn 20% of sales. Our Philosophy Shop Link Code offers a selection of lovely images and portraits with engaging quotes that we believe add a touch of intelligent class to websites while offering your visitors more things (always useful).
Finally, we now have a monthly Philosophy Shop newsletter (private / spam free - we hate spam!) with information about sales, new products and some nice pictures & quotes (and perhaps even a short philosophy essay!). So sign up! That's it for now.
Cheers, Karene Jade Howie

|NOTE: You have found our early (experimental) Posters Tshirts shop which we no longer maintain. You are welcome to browse this shop (below), some sections are pretty good, others incomplete (and you can still buy things that you like). But our Philosophy Shop has most of the content from here, along with substantially more things (see image and text links at top of this page).|
It has taken 6 months full time work from two people to complete, and now has a wonderful collection of portraits and famous artworks with profound quotes from many of the greatest minds of the past 2,500 years (we hope it shows our genuine love of philosophy, human intelligence and artistic / scientific creativity). Rewardingly, it has been one of the top ten shops at Cafepress for the past 4 months (out of about 3 million shops!). So it seems that some of you relate to our passion (which is very nice).
Please refer to links at the top of this page for complete range of products / pages.
Thanks (and sorry for any inconvenience).

| (Francisco de Goya) 'Fantasy, abandoned by reason, produces impossible monsters; united with it, she is the mother of the arts and the origin of marvels.'|
'When we speak of Nature it is wrong to forget that we are ourselves a part of Nature. We ought to view ourselves with the same curiosity and openness with which we study a tree, the sky or a thought, because we too are linked to the entire universe.' (Henri Matisse)

"The true liberation of eroticism lies in accepting the fact that there are millions of facets to it, a million forms of eroticism, situations, atmospheres and variations. We have, first of all, to dispense with guilt concerning its expansion, then remain open to its surprises, varied expressions, and (to add my personal formula for the full enjoyment of it) fuse it with individual love and passion for a particular human being, mingle it with dreams, fantasies, and emotion for it to attain its highest potency." (Anais Nin, Eroticism in Women)
Analyse any human emotion, no matter how far it may be removed from the sphere of sex, and you are sure to discover somewhere the primal impulse, to which life owes its perpetuation. ... The primitive stages can always be re-established; the primitive mind is, in the fullest meaning of the word, imperishable. ... Mans most disagreeable habits and idiosyncrasies, his deceit, his cowardice, his lack of reverence, are engendered by his incomplete adjustment to a complicated civilisation. It is the result of the conflict between our instincts and our culture. (Sigmund Freud, Philosophy of Sex / Human Sexuality)
