He achieved international recognition for his pioneering 'Arts in Space' work when he became the first American painter to create "drift paintings" while his body floated in zero gravity, as scientific research. During his second parabolic flight in 2006, flown in conjunction with the National Space Society's 25th International Space Development Confernece, Pietronigro created microgrvity mobiles, on a Zero Gravity Corporation flight, upon which he has based this new series of designs you see below.
