The Linux Picnic is an annual celebration of the anniversary of the release of the Linux Kernel, a landmark event in the history of Open Source Software. The annual picnic event started with the 10th anniversary in 2001. The Linux Picnic is operated as an alliance of many Open Source Software community organizations, and organized as a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the South Bay Community Network, Inc., a California non-profit corporation.
