More Information
Nikosono's secret devotion to lounge culture brings a lot of talking-words interludes in his "instrumental songs". This music plugs the audience in a bath of electro-disco-reggae mood and puts the grooves in furious twists. All this electronic poetry has been compiled into his first independant album: "Camping-bass". One finds there thousand of influences going from the Arabian music to Italian tunes, while passing the dub of Lee Perry, the burlesque from Audiard movies and the ambiguity from Almodovar actors. After Nikosono had founded an experimental band called "Woom" in 1997 (with Amadeus Tapioka, author of remixes for Jay Jay Johanson, Doctor Olive...), he has been joined in 2000 by The Black Tempo Orchestra. This acoustic band is made up of a drummer, a flute player, two dijeridoos jammers and latin vocals. In 2004, you can (re-)discover this nice electronica "novel" with new mixes and arrangements.
