Questions about Gear Orders

• What shipping should I choose? When will I get my Gear?
  To decide which shipping option to use, refer to the standard chart of shipping rates and times or the Holiday shipping chart. You may also call our production partner, Cafepress, toll-free at 1-877-809-1659 Monday - Friday, 7am to 5pm PST. We recommend calling early in the morning. Our merchandise is shipped from California.
• Can I order by phone?
  Absolutely! Phone orders are easy if you add items to your online shopping cart before you call and recite the  shopping cart number  to the operator. Call toll-free 1-877-809-1659 Monday - Friday, 7am to 5pm PST. The operator can look up products under our parent company name:  netVeyance  (rhymes with conveyance).
• My credit card was rejected
  The most common mistake is typing spaces in your credit card number. Please type in the number with no spaces or hyphens. Other problems could involve entering your name or the numbers incorrectly. You can always update an order with a different credit card number if the first fails. If in doubt, feel free to call Cafepress -- our order fulfillment partner -- toll-free at 1-877-809-1659 Monday - Friday, 7am to 5pm PST. We recommend calling early in the morning.
• Can I order with Paypal?
  Our order fulfillment partner does not accept Paypal, but Paypal does provide a virtual MasterCard that you can use for online purchases. To learn more about this, visit the PayPal Debit Bar help page. For bulk orders you will deal directly with us, and Paypal is fine.
• I want to change my order
  Okay. Read the customer service information at changing your order.
• My order says pending
  If the order is pending, it is awaiting credit card verification. If this fails, and you are not contacted, it means that your contact information was also inaccurate. It does happen. If you're wondering about your order, we suggest calling Cafepress toll-free at 1-877-809-1659 Monday - Friday, 7am to 5pm PST. You may also contact ShareTheSatire through the contact page, supplying your contact details
• I have not been charged
  Your credit card information is verified when you place your order, but you are not charged until your gear have been shipped. Consequently, expect a delay before you see the charge on your statement.
• I want quality

• Why can't I find your Gear in your Amazon Store?
  The two shops carry different merchandise. Our Gear is supplied by our order fulfillment partner Cafepress. The Store is provided in partnership with Amazon.com: they provide the back end, while we provide the front. We created the Amazon store because we wanted an easier way to search for humorous merchandise on Amazon; the result is the ShareTheSatire book search. We chose Cafepress for our Gear for product quality and reliable customer service.

Search Explained

• Search doesn't search this site
  You're right about that. From ShareTheSatire's search page you can search other satire sites, Amazon.com, or the rest of the Internet via Google. We will initiate a search that targets ShareTheSatire eventually, but it hasn't been a priority since the Google toolbar has a "Search This Site" function that we recommend to everyone.

Browser Compatibility

• Something doesn't look right...
  We have been improving site compatibility beyond IE 6. We are aware of issues with small browser windows and Netscape's tabs (you have to click a different tab to get the page to load). If the logo appears covered on the right edge (".com" is missing) or the index page customer list overlaps other content, widen your browser window. Our site is mostly compatible with Firefox, although a few minor issues remain as of February 2005, such as some centered elements drifting to the left.

• I hate Spam
  Same here. We don't want it, and we don't send it. But what you are really asking for is our privacy policy. In short, we respect you and your right to privacy.

Other Topics

• What happened to my comments?
  In October and December of 2004 our hosting provider had two crashes and inadequate backups of dynamically created data, such as comments. If your comment was lost, we sincerely apologize. We have expanded our own backup procedures. Transactions have always been safe since they are handled on a separate server.
• Do you really sell merchandise, or is that also satire?
  Very funny! Yes, we sell shirts, bumper stickers, and other satirical merchandise through our Gear store in partnership with CafePress. We sell books and other merchandise in association with Amazon.com through our Amazon store.
