The correlation between music and the visual arts has always held a fascination for me. Line, form, color, tone, and contrast are words that apply easily to both audio and visual creations, and it is this relationship that defines my work. As an artist, nothing inspires me more while painting than listening to music, whether it be the syncopated rhythms of a bluegrass band, the playful interactions of a jazz combo, or the gritty howl of a blues guitar. It is acoustic music, however, which most intrigues me. The deceptively simple magic of wire and wood, and the festiveness of musical interplay are what I strive for in my artwork. Music, to me, is joy, color, and beauty, and it is my hope that this is what is conveyed by my creations. -Woody Muckler
