Synopsis:

Beatrix Potter was born in South Kensington, London in 1866. She had little opportunity to mix with other children. Even Potter's younger brother, Bertram, was rarely at home; he was sent to boarding school, leaving Beatrix alone with her pet animals. She had frogs and newts and even a pet bat. She also had two rabbits -- the first was Benjamin, whom she described as "an impudent, cheeky little thing", while the second was Peter, whom she took everywhere with her, even on the occasional outings, on a little lead. Potter would watch these animals for hours on end, sketching them. Gradually the sketches became better and better and are included in this book."The Tale of Peter Rabbit": Peter Rabbit and his three sisters (Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail) live with their mother under the roots of a large fir tree. Peter, who is an adventurous young bunny, invades the garden of Mr. McGregor."The Tale of Benjamin Bunny": The book deals with Benjamin and his cousin Peter Rabbit going to Mr McGregor's garden, while he is away, to find the clothes Peter lost in The Tale of Peter Rabbit."The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies": When Benjamin Bunny and his children, the Flopsy Bunnies, go to Mr. McGregors rubbish heap, they are pleasantly surprised to find it filled with overgrown lettuces. They eat their fill and then fall asleep. When they are found by Mr. McGregor and put in a bag, Thomasina Tittlemouse comes to their rescue.
