Welcome to Something of The Night merchandise. On Thursday 6th November 2003 the Rt Hon Michael Howard QC MP was officially named the new leader of the British Conservative Party. We launched this venture to welcome him to his new job. We wanted to look back over his past career as the driving force behind the Poll Tax and sometime adversary of Anne Widdecombe, who famously remarked that Howard had "something of the night about him".
On Friday 7th October 2005 he resigned after a crushing defeat for his party in the British General Election.
Since then we have supplied dozens of Something of the Night mugs and T-shirts - and the odd cheeky Howard thong!
The contenders to replace Michael are David Davis (a rags-to-riches hardman), David Cameron (a nice young man), Dr Liam Fox (his head can turn 360 degrees like an owl and he can light cigarettes with his eyes) and a cigar-lover called Ken Clarke (fat and jolly). Please view the products on this site while you are here - hopefully you will want to take something away with you as a souvenir of a very special man before he is lost in the mists of time.
