up the pieces
Life in Africa members in Kampala pooled resources to provide a Peace Tiles workshop for former abductees, recently returned from spending time as child soldiers in the LRA rebel ranks. During and after the workshop, the children discussed ways that they could become involved in building peace. The original tiles will hang at the Gusco reception center, to welcome other formerly abducted children who will wait there in the future while their families are tracked down, so they can finally go home. 40% of the proceeds on all products in this collection will buy craft supplies, to keep the children at the Gusco center occupied during their waiting time there, and to create more PeaceTiles to welcome home more child soldiers. |
