I'VE KNOWN RIVERS PRESS is the non-profit arm of Harlin Jacque Publications. The imprint has been created to publish poets and storytellers who come from underserved populations--writers who lack access to literary outlets and opportunities. Our writers include poets and storytellers of color, woman writers, incarcerated writers, young and elder writers. The Press seeks to expose these artists to professional opportunities, publication, writing workshops and professional mentoring. The title of the imprint is a tribute to the poet, Langston Hughes, whose famous poem, "The Negro Speaks of Rivers," encompasses both the mission and the heart of our goal as publishers.
