What George W. Bush is calling Inauguration Day, we the progressive 48 percent of America are calling a National Day of Mourning.
On January 20, 2005, the 48 percent of America that voted against Bush will mourn his re-election by staying home from work, abstaining from making purchases, wearing black, and joining in massive protests in Washington D.C. and throughout the country.
We at Irregular Times are endorsing the National Day of Mourning because we think it's high time that Bush's claims of having earned a mandate for his extreme nationalist policies are proven wrong. Since Election Day, a grassroots Progressive Resistance has surged into action, and it will not stop until freedom, fairness, and true democracy are brought back to the government of the United States of America.
We urge you to take part in the National Day of Mourning, and to help spread the word with the items shown below.
Design of the Month: Shut Down Guantanamo Bumper Sticker
Remind me again... what was this election about? Oh, that's right: it was about an end to the Bush Era of lawlessness. It was about restoring respect for human rights and civil liberties. It was about stopping the War On Terror baloney. So now that the Democratic Party has won the House of Representatives, and the Senate, and the White House, it has WHAT? Overwhelmingly voted to prevent the closure of Guantanamo!
Have you had enough? Then say so, with one of our Shut Down Guantanamo bumper stickers on your car.
